The "New Era" version has nothing to do with the down download station. There's a possibility that N3V may have been performing some maintenance and the server was down. Sadly, we haven't seen too much of the crew since their downsizing, but they are most likely very overwhelmed and have neither time nor energy to respond here as this is just one more thing to do in their very long days.
The FCT has nothing to do with the DLS, neither does T:ANE, and nor does having the fastest computer in the world. If you can't connect quickly, then there's got to be something else happening, such as a firewall problem, network issue, in TX or new Zealand at your house, or perhaps at your internet provider. If you are having account problems, or issues logging in, check the usual things such as your firewall software, and you have a good connection, as any of these can cause your machine not to connect or connect properly. Outside of that, you will then need to place a helpdesk ticket in order to resolve an actual password issue if that proves to be the issue.
Please run the network diagnostics tool in CM and post the log (copy and paste) information here for us to look at. Sometimes someone else looking at something may find the issue right off even if it's staring you right in the face. We may save you the trouble of placing a ticket for naught and wasting everyone's time including your own.
