Find KUID in Content Manager?

What is the required "structure" of the KUID you are searching for? Do you always need the full and accurate search key or is there some way to search on a partial KUID?

What I generally do is set the filter for "Author", then the number/pound sign, then the userID number. If you look at the "my content" tab that lists your number. If you set for Author #522774 you'll find all the stuff I uploaded. Next select the KUID number tab to sort by KUID number, scroll down the list until you get to the number after the colon.

The first red number indicates it's a revision (new version) the last number indicates which revision. Green is the author's unique number, everything created by any given author will have that same number in front of the center colon. The blue part after the center colon is the actual asset number that makes it unique from all the other assets created by that same author.

Thanks - I never would have guessed the # as a wildcard. Was this uncovered by months of digging or is there some place where goodies like this are stored?

It's in the TRS2006 Manual as a Tip on page 251. That manual totals 329 pages and is the largest that Auran ever put out. Too bad it isn't available from Auran. As far as I know it's only available on the TRS2006 CD.

Thanks Bob. I have the manual but really forgot about it. A review may answer other questions on my list.
