So, I took a test the other day to get hired on with Trax, Utah (well salt lake city's) Rail Transit authority. When I showed up to take the test which you have to pass to be hired. So I wander into the room, seeing all number of people that look nervous and such, though I have this big grin on my face. The tester looks at me, blinks and then says "Railfan?" I nod and he laughs. "Well you'll get the job."

The following is a link to my study materials I had to use. Read, and enjoy. Also, giggle a bit.

Needless to say, I got a 100% on the test.

Congratulations on getting the job and all of that business, but I don't see what's so funny.
Also in consideration of security, I'd remove that PDF from this post if I were you.

Agree with Jordon. While I suppose there could be a copyright or concern about the terms of distribution, nothing in that PDF appears to be any kind of trade secret, and there isn't anything most railfans wouldn't know.

There is no PDF in that post. There is a link to a PDF document hosted on the www site of the authority and available as a public document. The link is relevant to the post. There is no reason to delete it.

He, congratz Magickmaker on the first step!

Going to read that PDF; maybe I learn something today :hehe:.

"In consideration of security", why say something about someone else and than quote the link in your own posts so that even if he removes it from his own, it still is in yours? :o In other words: Start with removing it from your own post.

Congratulations!

Good luck now that you are in the door, so to speak. You still have more work ahead of you as you learn their operations and have a lot of fun doing it too. :)

Regarding the link... There's nothing insecure nor is there any mention of anything that's copyright protected. Most of the information is generic railroad terminology with pictures showing their own stuff in a few places along with some dumb clip-art.

If the link went to some website that had a bunch of pop-up adverts, and wasn't off of their official website, I'd worry more.

Ooh! That PDF might be something useful for me to look through. I was thinking of applying for a job with the North County Transit Authority, the people who operate the Coaster suburban trains in San Diego.
