Feather River Canyon

judging by the trainz versions listed under his name, guys, it will be build for 09 therefore it will, no doubt, work in any later versions...

Cheers
Stevo

Stevo is correct. The route is made in '09. I had used '06 up until about 3 months ago, when my work station finally gave out (losing all data for Trainz). Since then, I have been forced to use '09 and up.

You appear to be making good progress with the route. I do recommend adding a bit more contrast with colors of textures or flora, perhaps adding a darker ground texture beneath the large stands of trees to simulate shadows. Trainz is pastel enough, and from the screens the trees and predominate ground texture are similar enough as to wash out the entire culmination.:)

Update 9/29

I am finishing up the Portola, CA area (far east end of the route). Textures are also being added to make the line more prototypical, as well as roads and buildings are being added more and more. However, I have run into a slight problem of not being able to run sessions on the route. I am hoping that this is an easy fix and the route can continue work again soon. I don't have any shots of Portola at the moment, but some should appear by next week.

Honestly D.C., I am simply blown away by your attempt of recreating the legendary route of the Western Pacific Railroad and the route, that made the WP famous besides the other reason (Obviously, the California Zephyr.). I can see the spot on accuracy of the legendary Western Pacific in this very breath-taking route in Trainz. The only thing I wish is that Amtrak still sent the California Zephyr along this beautiful line through the Feather River Canyon, even though Donner Pass is scenic too, to me, a canyon beats a mountain pass any day! I can't wait to see more on this route that is simply breath taking and a breath of fresh air.

Photo Update 9/29

Fixed the issue and now the route is running smoother than before. Here's the promised shots of the Portola area. Enjoy everyone and thank you all for your support.

Just as a suggestion, NS37 did a set of frogs, joint bars, and check rails that could be used with the nice track work you have done.

Search for norfolksouthern37 on the DLS.

Update 10/3

As of tonight, I am finishing about 2 miles of track-bridges / scenery to the west of Portola. I have decided to hold off on completing Portola's scenery, since I am still debating whether to model the town in the 1960's (with passenger car wash and old depot; matching the era the route is being recreated) or go with a more modern time to model so the car wash is not needed (I would add one, but is non-existent in Trainz).

Aside from that, I have also added frogs to all the turnouts which I had left naked without noticing, and once again rearranged the throat to Keddie Yard (mark that as the 5th time I have had to rework that area). Portola's yard is now complete and signals are also being put in along the line.

As usual, a few shots of the progress.

Enjoy,
D.C.

We catch a West Bound freight soon after the Zephyr cleared the Portola Yard.

Nice! 3dtrains made this route for MSTS. Good to see someone finally making a Trainz version. Can't wait to see it finished!;)

Update 10/6

Haven't been able to work on the route the past few days. The only progress I have made at this time, is the Oroville station and parts of the yards in Oroville have been laid out. I also decided to finally touch up the early textures with more realistic ones. With this all said and done, I thought I might have a lil' fun with running some WP equipment for the night (a change from carving out the route in surveyor). Here are the progress shots (more or less fun shots) of the route.
