Favorites in Surveyor

Does anyone know how to get Favorites to work on in Trainz 12 Surveyor? It works OK in Railyard but there doesnt seem to be a way to filter out unwanted stuff in the Train and Consist part of Surveyor. The book mentions a red dot on the right hand side but I cant see it at all.

If TS12 is anything like TS10, you need to look for the filter tool which is on the top left of the screen. There's the Main Menu box then some buttons next to it. The third from the left is the filter (looks a bit like a funnel).

The above applies to TRS2006 and before. Later versions of Trainz have the Content Search Filter for use in Surveyor. You can select it by pressing Ctrl Shift F. It provides more filter options than the method mentioned above. In fact, the Content Search Filter offers just about everything that is in the Search Panel in Content Manager.

The way i read him post is that in railyard you can pick favorites and in surveyor openning trains (F7)there use to be a red buttom where you could choose the favorites that you have choose in railyard. That not in TS12.(sorry)

Two ways to find favorites in surveyor.

1.For Trains using Rail Yard go into Rail Yard & mark all the ones you want as favorites with a green dot.
Then in Surveyor open the search 3rd button from left then alongside the Favorite Content heading press the down arrow to the right & select Favorite Content this will show anything marked Favourite in Rail yard plus anything marked 5 stars in Content Manager in all the other tabbed sections.


2. Put anything you want to use on a regular basis into the Picking List Either in Surveyor or in the search section as described above under the pick list heading.Items here are shown regardless of number of stars.

This section is very useful when route building as you can store textures ,signals etc or anything else you use repeatedly on a route so you don't have to continually go looking for them each time you need to place them.
