Eyes On The Rails
Hey Guys:wave:

I have TS12 and got the budd diners at AMTZ. But they are faulty and I have the following error...
Error: Texture 'env_metal.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'diner.im'.

Any help would be great!:)

i have encountered this error before with little to no success and i was never able to truely fix these cars.. someone might be of some assistance but my best advice would be give up and find one on a freeware site.... i have seen some before but cant really remember the site i saw them off of.

If the texture exists, run PEVSoft's PM2IM to fix the slot that the texture was placed in.
If it is totally missing, you'll need to check working cars from the same author with same texture and copy it into the folder for the diner.

When I was fixing a lot of content, after upgrading to TRS2009, I had a folder of "Misc Textures" located on my desktop. If I needed a texture more than once, I'd copy it to this folder. I had everything in that folder ranging from the black.tga that everyone looks for as well as this env_metal.tga.

Sorry it took so long to reply. But the slot that the texture.txt was placed into is already an IM mesh.

No problem with replying. These forums move faster than a spring tornado moving across Oklahoma!

If this is the case, run the PM2IM tool and let it fix the texture slot error. That will fix your issue.

Ok, ok, easy fix:

Copy and paste a env_metal.bmp and env_metal.texture.txt file from another locomotive (I used a BBL cab car)
Also change the "yellowthing'.texture.txt'' to: "yellowting_.texture.txt

Should work, proof:

It didn't work i now have a second error saying "Error: Texture 'yellow thing'.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'diner.im'." Please tell how to fix this please i really need it for a scenario i am working on.

I think have them working, make sure you downloaded the newest ones. I have repaired so many things and they may have been something I had to fix too. The fix is pretty simple.

That is the website i used, and there is still nothing i can do to get it fixed. :(

It should be upgraded to 3.5 in ASSETX. That includes adding a shadow mesh and a texture repair.

The env_metal error is fixed with PEV's PM2IM. However, that adjusts invalid texture names in the IM file, so that an apostrophe (') is changed to an underscore. So the file named "yellowting'.texture.txt" has to have its name changed to "yellowting_.texture.txt". Then it needs a thumbnail added and it should be good to go.
