English South Coast

On the popular TV Series COAST, there was some good footage of the line from Bournmouth to Plymouth. Does anyone know if there is a 2010 or 2012 route of the English South coast which includes this section, what the quality is like and where it is obtainable? Cheers

There is not or never has been a line from Bournemouth to Plymouth, so I think you misheard something. The main line from Waterloo to Bournemouth went on to Weymouth. The Southern line to Plymouth went via Basingstoke, Salisbury and Exeter while the GWR line went via Bristol or Castle Cary to Exeter, then along the coast.

If I recollect, what you saw was the ex GWR line from Exeter along the coast through Dawlish (the route of Brunel's abortive Atmospheric Railway experiment). As far as I know there is no Trainz route.

I agree with Teddytoot. I can recall the episode of Coast and John is right,the line featured is the section along the coast that was originally Brunel’s atmosphericrailway and runs through Dawlish.

If you use Googol maps and enter Dawlish, Devon you can see the track alongthe coast.

There is an older route on the DLS of this area, which I enjoyed a few years back.

There seems to be a problem here.. The zip files download OK but the cdp gives a 404 error..

Could someone enlighten us as to where the route could be downloaded
