Hello!, Im new to the Forums and I dont know if this problem would belong in this section. But i really need it answered. Anyways so you know the German route and sessions in TRS 2010 EE? Well i want the instructions for the session to display english not German! Anyone know how to change the German Instructions to English? Any Help Would be appreciated Thanks!

If the route is a self-made route, chances are the route is only available in the language of the creator. If thats in German, I guess you are stuck to german.

I mean the exact opposite.

If the route was not installed with the game, you can expect the downloaded route to only have 1 language available. In this case German.

Ok, Its a multi routes installed with the game i cant find a way to change the luanguage of the instructins for the session.Do you know how?

It mostly depends on what instructions you are talking about. If you mean text that appears telling you about the route and what to expect it to do, then the instructions are probably in the file "config.txt".

If they are, you can copy all the German text and paste it into Google Translation and it will return English. Then you copy/paste it back into the config file. Save the file, and re-commit the asset.

If the instructions pop up in an HTML file as you are running it, then you need to locate each of the HTML assets for that session and alter the picture it uses to display the instructions. In this case, it is very difficult to do, but not impossible.

Google Translate is definitely the way to go but, if delving into config.txt files seems a bit daunting, you could always use the good old fashioned paper method! Write down the instructions on a piece of scrap paper, then go into Google Translate and type them in. It will then give you an English translation (not always highly accurate but certainly usable) which you can copy and paste into a Word document.

Do this for each of your sessions and you will build up a paper file with all the English instructions. Then, next time you run the route, simply ignore the German and read from your English paper file which can sit on your desk.

This may not be very high-tech but it avoids touching your precious Trainz files which might have been a worry for you.

Hello again.
Well now I'm going to suggest something even more old fashioned than Google Translate and paper - a dictionary. I don't know the route in Trainz 2010 but I do have several Protrain Perfect German routes and I suspect these come from the same source and have the same translation issues. My knowledge of German is fairly schoolboy basic (failed) but you soon get to know certain words and, for this purpose, you don't have to worry about the grammar. The HTML pop-ups are mostly one liners and don't have a huge vocabulary. Once you know that, for example "warten" = "wait" or "Lokfuhrer" = loco driver (engineer in the US), you'll soon be OK. You need to be aware that the German language uses long words made up of smaller words so you may not find Lokfuhrer in your dictionary but you will find "Lok" = "locomotive" and "Fuhrer" = "leader" and you can guess the rest. Give it a go and don't be afraid to use your "Pause" button a few times until you get the hang of it.

You could always ask a Trainzer here who speaks German if you copy/paste the language. Many of the German Trainzers speak English also.

This site http://webtranslation.paralink.com/ provides multiple different translators so you can compare the different translations for better results.

I've noticed that no-one so far has asked what his build number is.

It may be worth seeing if Content Updates, or even a patch helps.

It's likely that if it's a built-in asset, it probably had an update for it.

I could be wrong though (I have been a few times previously), which if that is the case, it's going to be a difficult task involving the relevant HTML asset.
