Very interesting! Assume the cab is in the front and close-set wheels are inside the bottom part, or solid-rubber wheels (or "artillery" style metal wheels) on the outside. Hard to believe it could cross the moonscape beaten zone, though, with an engine that would fit anywhere inside, and high ground pressure. Might have been useful, however, if one or two could be towed behind "Mother" or one of the rhomboid tanks.

(Or might this have been cover and deception for the actual RN tank program?)

Dublin Easter Rising 1916 : at the outbreak of the rising a military convoy of ammunition came under attack and had to take cover, with the officer in charge was killed and half the men killed or injured they were rescued after four days by troops using these. they are boilers property of GNR which were loaded onto trucks and with plating placed on the cab end used to collect the ammunition stores and the troops. The story is that they took out the ammunition first and when all that was removed they collected the injured soldiers.

When I scrolled through the pictures past the Army pics the second rail one with a diesel shunter had a railway station in the background. A red building and aa latticed entry doorway. Is that station available on the DLS?
