It was a poor choice of thread title and, but I'm sure Bhorton meant to say "Britain wins Wimbledon".

I'm 3/4 Scottish (and 1/4 English) and I certainly wouldn't want want to detract from Andy's amazingly hard-won success by bickering and I'm sure you all agree to that modified title. I have to say though, I did rather see the irony of Alex Salmond holding the Scottish Flag up inches behind David Cameron's head!

We have to also thank Novak Djokovic for putting up such an amazing fight, bringing out every inch of Murray's inner strength.

Both performed admirably!

Must say that was an irritating thread title then in the content use the word "British." Bhorton you should have the British word in the title as well. England is NO Britain it is one of 4 constituting home nations so try and remember that. Its is such annoying attitudes that create friction that doesn't need to be. I happen to be Scottish and proud of that but equally being British too but I seem to understand better than you! Tut, Tut, to put it mildly!

Cannot stand this game (give me a good game of hurling anytime), but have to say who else has ever won and donated their winnings to cancer research rather than gloating about how rich they are. This man deserves all our respect.

Wasn't a "Scott" bassist118, was a "Scot." As it happens , Iam not into tennis at all myself and just as domsarto likes something more physical like his hurling game (we have something similar in the Highlands), I always preferred rugby at school. These are real get-stuck-in-games!
