Oh wow, I was actually think 1939 or so given on the cars. I know cars in the late 1940s and early 1950s were becoming bigger in size. Perhaps those are older cars on the road.

Could be. No new cars during WWII, so the late 30s cars may have been on the roads for quite a while.

They still made cars, just at an extremely limited quantity due to the War Production Board restrictions.

How about some tunnel motor and early GPs, too, for Utah Belt?

How about some switchers... I find there is a distinct lack of variety of small early switch engines in Trainz. Many of these "critters" lasted for decades on shortlines or as plant/industrial switchers long after they were surpassed by newer models on the big roads. The old (1947-1955) GE 70-ton end cab is my favorite.
