engine turnaround

My routes have loops, "Y's", or turntables at several yards, but yes, most routes do not. That is one of the reasons there are usually at least 2 locomotives pulling trains these days, coupled back-to-back. When you get to the end of the route, the locos just "run around" and the loco that was previously "trailing" is now the lead.

I'm talking about routes that do not have portals. (Trying to cover my arse because I know there'll be somebody that mentions portals as a way to turn a loco around. I don't use any portals except maybe a re-rail portal, because I don't care at all for them. Just my likes/dislikes and my humble opinion.)

You could always add a baseboard on the ends of a route, and install a loop, balloon track, or a multitracked loop double ended staging yard.

hello

thanx dave, i was thinking, every1 wants to create a "real" railroad, but does any1 try to make it better, more efficient? i don't know if you have ever played transport tycoon, but i have seen some layouts that handled tons of traffic and were very efficient. and all these switches drive me crazy i look at signals as exits, but i get lost with no signs to follow, my trucking game is much easier. plus the curves i build make my train derail.
