Downtown Traction Co.

For TS12, look in the folder

Hi trainman --

If you are using the TS12 version that RapidShare map is out of date.

If you look under the thumbnail (either on the Download Station or in Content Manager) you will see some text.

Towards the end:
A map of the route, a commodity flow diagram and a list of suggested freight cars are included in the folder containing the route.

An illustrated tutorial on configuring interactive industries and freight cars can be downloaded from
https://rapidshare.com/files/438627468/LARS_ProtoLARS_MIN_Tutorial.pdf

Do you need help opening the folder so that you can find the "map of the route, a commodity flow diagram and a list of suggested freight cars"?
__________

Edit:

Actually, in the session there is this text that describes the process:

Industries have been configured to consume and produce commodities. See the jpg files in the folder containing the session for details of the commodities the industries will produce and consume, and the freight cars that can be used to carry the commodities. The folder containing the session can be opened by highlighting the session in Content Manager and then pressing Ctrl-Shift-E. The jpg files can then be printed out. Close the folder and then press Ctrl-R in Content Manager to revert the folder to its original settings.
__________

There is also a multiplayer session for the route that configures the industries and spots freight cars. Look for kuid 69871:2093

If you want to play this session as a single player, go into Rules and delete the Multiplayer rule.

i was downloading for TS12 and was missing dependencies and such, so i loaded my TS2010 and was driving that route. as a newbie, i still mostly run routes that have pre-made sessions, i kinda get lost "without guidance"

All dependencies ARE on the DLS

All the assets for the TS12 version are on the Download Station. Promise.

Fire up Content Manager.

  1. In the middle left pane set the filters to Location = Local; Built-in = False.
  2. Scan down the main pane for any assets with a "?". This indicates missing dependencies.
  3. In the Download Helper pane click on "Clear" to remove any entries that may be there.
  4. Drag and drop the assets with the "?" (except for the route itself) from the main pane into the Download Helper pane.
  5. Pause while Content Manager searches for the missing dependencies.
  6. Click on "Start" and the missing dependencies will download.
  7. It sometimes takes several iterations to capture all the dependencies, so repeat the process if necessary.
  8. Finally, if the route still has a "?", drag and drop into the Download Helper and repeat.

Tell us how you go.

ill try that when i get home tonight. since there is a map view in trainz, is there a way to export or convert so a pdf can be generated of any map?
thanks.

Tell us how you go.

loaded TS12, loaded route, only session i had was TS12 multiplayer session, so i chose that but then it said some dependencies had been locally modified and that it had to revert the asset back. so, i chose yes, it did its thing, and then it said downtowntractionco. TS12 is out of date and missing dependencies and would i like to update. AAAARGH!! i chose yes but it wont update or whatever cause when i mouseover, it keeps saying that connection to server was interupted. now i went to the ds and searched by "philskene", used downloadhelper to d/l downtowntractionco. TS12 Session 1 and when it goes to d/l it in cm, i get a red bar at the bottom and says it cant download because it is not found on the ds which is where i found it ??????

Any "?" for the multiplayer session?

From post #4:

"If you want to play this session as a single player, go into Rules and delete the Multiplayer rule."

Hi Phil. Thanks for the Downtown Traction Co. Had hours of fun so far and looking forward to more. Im currently running the "Couloured Boxcar" session and am having trouble finding the pipes to reload the flatcars. Any clues??

Phil,

The difference in the maps contained in the TS2010 sub-directory, is that they have the detailed breakouts of the maps, and don't have the commodity flow diagram or the list of suggested freight cars. Obviously, the maps are for the version of Downtown Traction Co. included with TS2010. I don't know which version of Downtown Traction Co. funnnyfarm has, but since he shows TS2010 on his trackline, I figured he could probably find the maps in his copy of TS2010.

Bob --

Good thinking. And unfortunately I can't remember what changes, if any, I made to the tracks and industries going from the '10 to the '12 version.
