Downloading Bug

3Ds MAX will be my demise
G'day!

Just found out the servers are all over the place right now but that still should not count for the bug I am encountering.

An asset simply refuses to download. Very strange and annoying. It is QR54NG by glt0145 for the QR BAZY NG flats. The bogie is simply not downloading. I add it to Download Helper. It appears to download in a second when it is 163.32 KB A small icon next to it indicated it is installed in 'local'. Another bogie, QR54, standard gauge, takes at least 2-3 seconds to download. I selected both QR54NG and QR54 to 'View in Main List'. QR54NG is still on the DLS but QR54 is installed in local. It is very frustrating because the BAZYs won't work without QR54NG. If I try to change the bogie CCP just throws a number of texture errors at me and I have to revert to original. Any way around this?

Cheers! :)

Jake.

Is it worth seeing if you can download it by FTP, using the web based DLS?

Some assets will play up if using Content Manager.

G'day!

No luck. CMP just throws 'Failed to install asset' error at me.

Cheers! :)

Even saving the CDP to disk doesn't work?
There could be something wrong with the asset. Check the faulty tab and see if there are any problems with the assets.

G'day!

@John, the assest isn't installed so I cannot check if it is faulty. :(

Cheers! :)

You are not alone with your problem. This exists for a number of us including me and apparently AURAN/N3V does not give a hoot about this. Just read the DLS forum and you will see this problem is frequent to quite some of us. I am often openly voicing/protesting about this here, to no avail. Apparently people need to vote with their feet (leaving the scene) until something positive is done about this problem.

It is the limiting/restricting of access for us to the DLS so more people can access the limited capacity of the servers as AURAN/N3V is plainly the cause as they would rather please their shareholders than us faithful and therefore the profits go just one way ---> to the shareholders. Except AURAN/N3V applying now just some bandaid measures when a major operation only would fix/solve these issues. In the olden days before "FURY", there were only a few shareholders of the TRAINZ franchise who were also trains enthusiasts, they looked after their customers --> us.

Now since the "FURY" days when N3V came along and the Trainz franchise had to go public to survive, this is sadly no more so. Sooner or later AURAN/N3V has to fix this access problem, so why can't they do it now?

If you wonder what AURAN's "Fury" was, google for it.

My rant for the day.

Rastis,
Just downloaded it into 2006 and looking at the configs and folders you can easily alter the standard gauge one and use that.
If you've not got 06 try it in 2009.
