I do respite care for an autistic boy of 14. I bought Trainz 2004 and he loves playing it - and it is obvious that he's played it before. But he has dyspraxia. He is very clumsy. I let him play it using my laptop but because he is so clumsy it is only a matter of time before he breaks the DVD drive. He has already broken the mousepad.
I would be happy to buy another version of Trainz that uses different copy protection from the CD-must-be-in-the-drive just to save my laptop! I see that there are downloadables of more recent versions. However, I'm not that familiar with Trainz. I suspect that anything that looks too different from 2004 might be difficult for him.
Worst case scenario, I buy a very robust external DVD-ROM. I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions...
