Download station problems

hey guys,

I recently got a new PC and had to re install trianz, no big deal but now when i want to download soemthing from the DLS i get the following error from firefox

"firefox doesn't know how to open this address, becuase the protocl {trainz} isn't associated with any program.

It hapens when i click on the download helper icon.

i'm running TS2009 build 41844

any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a common problem which I've seen mentioned from time to time. Basically, you need to 'associate' CMP with Firefox in order to use direct download links in the DLS.

The easiest way to fix it is in Firefox, from the menu bar at the top, click 'Tools', and then 'Options' and 'Applications'. Scroll down the list of applications til you get to to 'Trainz'. Next to 'Trainz' under the 'Action' column there should be a drop down menu to click on, which should have several options.

Select 'Use Content Manager' if it isn't already set (if it's not listed, you might have to click on 'Use Other' instead and select CMP under 'Browse' from there). Then click OK once CMP is selected.

If CMP still won't load in the DLS when you click on a direct link, try restarting Firefox to get it to refresh.

thanks for your reply, seems I can't see Trainz in the list in applications in firefox...... really frustraighting as I can't download anything :'( Is there a way to get firefox to recognise trainz.
