Download Station - Pay to download?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not my inability to download anything in CM is due to not having a paid download ticket. Doesn't work in TS12 nor 2010. Can someone confirm? I tried doing a repair on the database and its still broken.

More than likely the lack of a FCT will prevent you from downloading from the DLS. There are many threads here you can read, and many members you can commiserate with, but the free server for the DLS is overworked, especially on the weekend.

The FCT is quite a good value, and provides fast downloads once activated.

Thanks. I don't mind ponying up for a ticket but I didn't want to waste my money on something that might be software related.


I just bought a ticket, activated it and still getting same error. Unknown content error. Waste of 20 bucks.

Okay then, make sure your firewall is allowing access, and if you are using a different browser, make certain it is not having association difficulties.

Joe. Try some other assets that are for your version and see if it works. The unknown stuff has been going on for quite some time.

Another thing to try

When I first bought a FCT for TS2010, it wouldn't work. In CM, I had a few assets still in the download helper window, so I cleared them out. Then I put one back in and FCT worked and no problems since.

Also I believe it takes x time from when you buy it and when it works. Someone else may know how long x is.

It takes about 24 hours to activate, but you can sometimes "jump start" the process. Open up the login details and redo your login name. You just type the same one, and save it. This forces the server to update the credentials.

This process works about 99% of the time.

@Ed "Association difficulties" sounds like some part of a neurological problem.
