Download Station - is it working for anyone?

Hi, I've been trying to download stuff for the last two days after upgrading from UTC to T2009. I've tried using both Content Manager and the direct download pages on the website but keep getting server full messages.

Is this something wrong at my end or is everyone having problems?

your end, mines fine. Are you running as administrator when you log on to windows.

Yes, I always use administrator.

I've just tried changing some firewall settings, and even completely stopping my firewall, but I still get the same result.

Edit: I've looked around some other threads, and they seem to suggest that the DLS has been broke for a while now. When did it last work for you?

First Class Ticket Speed?

My account said my First Class Ticket had expired. When downloading the "Current Speed" shows 30KBps and then drops quickly to 7KBps for the remainder of the download. I have activated another First Class ticket, which in my settings after 12 hours show's it is activated. I'm getting no better performance.

What "should" the Current Speed show for a First Class Ticket? I do recall seeing these types of downloads rocket through the list but now things seem to take forever. Hmm, now it's down to 5.5KBps.

thoughts?

thanks,
-Robert

Solution found

After doing a forum search for 'Server Full' I finally found a thread suggesting changing your planet auran password - this worked.

Why isn't this solution put in the knowledgebase section of the helpdesk in place of the current completely unhelpful post on this subject?

Robert,

If you have anything in the queue, delete or let it download. Anything that was in the queue prior to your renewal will download at the slow speed. Subsequent downloads should work at the correct speed. If they do not, try resetting your Planet Auran settings should refresh the server and boost your speed up to the maximum that it's supposed to go.

DLS and CMP

I was able to download last night, the first time it's ever run semi-stable (although it did free on me several times, forcing me to shut it down and losing all progress).

But after reading Auran's suggestion to be very patient with Content Manager Plus, I have d/l'd any locos/cars/buildings' main file via FTP, then adding the smaller dependencies via CMP/DLS. And I add them just one at a time, let it finish downloading, then adding the next dep.

My main complaint about DLS are all of the nifty train things in there that have missing dependencies whose location is unknown. I've had to edit many a download, substituting content that couldn't be found with ones I already had. That probably means my SP locos I downloaded won't have the right engine and horn sounds, nor the BN SD40-2 the right trucks, but I can live with that if I can just get them into TRS2006.

Robert: might be your ISP, cuz I have never bought an FCT and my speeds, while far from mind blowing, have stayed in the 15-18 kbps range
