Download helper problems

Over the last few days whenever I try to download using the Download Helper the average speed is 28KB/s. I have a FCT and in the past the speed has always been over 100KB/s.
Is anybody else having this problem?
The speed indicator is deceiving. It counts up from zero at the start of each file it downloads, and repeats this for each file, so that the 'average' speed may indicate lower than the actual speed.
Is anybody else having this problem?
I have noticed this as well, unfortunately it is either due to heavy usage of the server at the time you are on there, or DLS problems, about which we have heard a lot more lately.

Problem solved! I have found out that one of my family recently installed a Internet Accelerator Program I have uninstalled this and gone back to my providers default settings. Average download speed is now back up to 100KB/s.
This may help if anybody else is having these problems

Glad you resolved your problem, I tend to download at night whenever possible, if you get the chance do it around midnight, you can get speeds in excess of 500 kbps using an FCT, and downloading from 3rd party sites is more stable as well...

Seeing as ex-railwayman is in England (see top RH side of his post), one would automatically realise that he is referring to midnight GMT.
