Download helper not being much help.

I have re-kindled my use of trainz as I got a new PC, and suddenly, got bored again. I realised that custom content would fuel my love of rail. So I worked it all out with the d/l station and helper etc, but I do wonder why on EARTH the download helper won't download quicker than 4KB/s. I mean, I can WALK quicker than that!
Its not a firewall issue and I've sure tried a few times. Last night I left it downloading, till about 2/3 in the morning, and it was only downloading 39MB!! Whats the point in broadband if you get worse than dial-up download speeds?
I picked up that its something to do with bandwidth. Why doesn't the d/l station do what many corporate companys do and upload to download sites, like megadownload.com. If you download AVG-free this is the case?

I understand that the d/l helper is actually a great help. Installing it etc, but 4KB/s!!!!

If you buy an FCT, it will download at broadband speeds, I usually get around 200kb/s, sometimes it's a bit slower, sometimes it's a bit faster, it depends on the time of day & traffic density.

4KBs is everyone's limit unles you have a FCT active that BLACKWATCH described. Mine did 300+KBs last time I used it.
