Down again?!

Did content manager gone down again? If so, why? I'm asking because I'm unable to access the download helper tool.

All of N3V has been down pretty regularly of late, including the forums. Better cross your fingers and hope it doesn't screw up again because these people sure as hel aren't fixing any damned thing on a weekend.

Content Manager is the program itself. Are you asking about the Download Station? It's working fine for me.

Is your firewall configured to accept connections from all Trainz processes?
Is your antivirus configured to ignore your Trainz directory?
Are all Trainz processes configured to launch as administrator?
Did you enter your username and password correctly?

That seems to reinforce my theory that N3V may not be responsible for these outages (as they are happening outside their office hours)...

That may be true but they sure as ---- are responsible for remedying the situation. In this case this calls for drastic action; just straight out ditch these incompetent nincompoops.

It depends on the nature of the fault. Sometimes, only their hosting provider can fix some issues, which usually takes longer.

Hi Shane, I completely understand the nature of the situation and how there's nothing N3V can do to rectify the immediate situation. However, they have the power to make the decision to switch to a local, more reliable host. Take for example, your telephone company. If the line goes down, you cannot make a call and there's nothing you can do about it. However if this becomes a regular occurrence (like 3 times in the past 48 hours) then logic dictates you should dump them right away.

I've suggested quite a few times that they should switch hosts, but each time I either haven't had a response, or had a vague response, so I cannot see it happening. It may be a price-related issue though - Softlayer may be offering them a loyalty discount.

It's been every day at the same time, the middle of the night AUS time as far as I can tell. IMO it's probably a backup job. I've logged a ticket and bugged Zec enough but it's annoying. I think he wishes the Support Ticket system didn't work for me.. ;-)

I have been noticing that exactly the same time, each and every day, the forum goes down, as well as the Black Pages DLS
Maybe someone is shutting off the sever computer control programs, and watching some XXX.. lol Its a possibility, or there is just some (Pardon my French) dumb**** idiots running the Servers.

I noticed the same thing, I thought it was the internet, until it started doing it EVERY day since the "maintenance" thing...

I suspect it hits the WIKI as well, as though it needed another failure vector...

I wish someone would dane to favor us with an explaination - in the absense of any, I'm left to conclude that a company which has an internet based business model and can't keep a server running... well I think you can see where I'm going with this....
