Does TS2010 or TS2009 work with 3DS Max 2011

As the subject states, for model building, do the above support 3DS Max 2011 or do I have to go back to 3DS Max 5?

Cheers

Guess its back to 3DS Max 5 (to bad Max 2010 has some great features)

I want to purchase 3dsmax 10 or 11 now I have been given a good price by a dealer.

When will we have exporters for them.
We need to get up with the times, You all just did upgrading with the DLS.

Everyone says we need to move on well lets move and get off the bench and start playing ball.

Is it possible to use Max 10 or Max11 then move the 3ds file from there into 3dsmax 6 or earlier to export to a im file....................................

Give me some feed back please......................................... thank you in advance

Well, the problem is that features that are in Max 2011 make it incompatible with Max 5/6. The highest max supported is Max 2009

No sense to do everything in Max 2011 then try to shift it to 5/6.

IMHO..

I would love to use Max 2011 for Trainz but no idea on how to write an exporter.

Cheers

G'day seniorchief,

Certainly, Damon you CAN'T get the 3ds Max 2010 or 2011 *.max files to open in any version lower than their own (backwards compatibility, as they like to call it - "lack of it"'; I prefer to call it) but I must confess that I have not tried the extra step of 'converting' the higher version to *.3ds format and then trying to import that into a lower version for subsequent export into Trainz. In theory, it should work. If I get the time, I might give this a go but I make NO promises...

G'day Zec,

How do you suppose me (and all the rest of those of us that are using 3ds Max 2009 and /or 3ds Max 9) export their assets? The current Trainz exporters work up to version 3ds Max 2009 and 3ds Max 9 (although, I know, your quite correct, towing the 'official line'...)

Exporter works fine with 3ds max 2009. I've been playing with max 2011 today, not sure if I like it or not, but will prob switch over if an exporter is released.

Jonny.
