Derailment fix with load session

I have been using trainz on and off for years. Just bought 2012 and wondering if there is an easy way to fix derailment without have to load a saved session. This has always been a frustration for me.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Kevin

There's a clean up derailed consists (or something close to that name) rule you can add to the session, edit that to clear derailments in however many minutes you want.

Any istructions on how do do that? I have never done anything with the rules. When it cleans it up does it reappear where it started?

Thanks

I think the consist is deleted totally ... and only available after restarting the Trainz game.

A wrecker crane that re-rails a train would be a cool idea.

That is a bummer... If you had a long session and all the consist slowly disappear that would be crappy. I wish there was a way to get it to come back or add it back in manually. Any ideas?

There is a rerail portal available. You can tell the portal to emit the derailed train with a "Navigate to Trackmark List v2" command that will send it to a dedicated rerail yard.

You need a portal on the route, then use the emit train rule from jointed rail.

Cool I am really going to look into this when I get home. This make me excited because this has always been a major grip of mine and I knew it was just my lack of knowlegde. Hopfully I can figure this out. There are not any tutorials for setting this up is there? I also found this which sounds interesting.

Edit the portal in surveyor to re rail all consists or if using the emit train rule you can specify which portals to use. So if you put one at either end of your route you can replace as required.

Hi Kevin,
You can do what you want to do in the game.
Just takes a bit of setting up beforehamd.
In surveyor, click on the the second icon to the right of the MENU Button.
In this window select ADD and choose the following rules. QUICK DRIVE and CLEAN UP DERAILED TRAINS or DERAILED VEHICLE REMOVER.
When you have created your consist open the train tab and select the TRAINS ICON. Using the GET CONSIST BUTTON, click on your consist and save it under any name you want.

When you have a derailment of this consist, wait for the derailment to be removed, then click on the USER RULES button in the top right of the screen (second icon from the left) and choose QUICK DRIVE.
In the window select NEW TRAIN and find your consist in the list. click on it and a small window comes up giving you the choice of PLACING CONSIST, REVERSE CONSIST, PLACE CONSIST AGAIN.
Make sure there is enough room to place the consist on the track.
If you need to you can add a driver in QUICK DRIVE or you can have the original drive MOVE TO TRAIN.
The beauty of doing all this is that you can create your favourite consists and add them at any time to any session anywhere.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Mike
