Is there any way to get the trains back on the tracks after you have derailed, apart from starting again I have no idea

you cant.i sajust you customize the route and add a back up train.

There is...

Look for the Re-rail Portal on the DLS. This will give you the option of restarting your trainz again after they've derailed or you can just erase them from the scene and fire the drivers.

There is also a derailed train eraser, but I'm not sure if that will help...
