Dell Laptop Power Error After TS2010 Install

As mentioned in the TS2010 forum, after installing TS2010 this evening and rebooting the laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520) it has started to display a power error message on P.O.S.T., to the effect that the PSU is not being detected and the battery will not charge.

The laptop was fine prior to running the TS2010 install and patch routine. The PSU is a relatively new one, having replaced the original with fraying wires about 6 months ago.

Is there anything in the TS2010 install routine which could potentially bork up something in the hardware systems/BIOS or am I just the victim of an unfortunate co-incidence (a Google reveals Dell laptops have a history of suddenly not reading the PSU input)?

Update to above, powered laptop back on cold from the mains this afternoon and the power message has gone away. Therefore have to conclude it was the TS2010 installer and patcher that was responsible.

Power supply plug not inserted fully or dirty or getting worn could trigger that message as could an intermittent break in the cable. Probably more likely the PS overheated.
Software can't affect hardware other than maybe the Power supply overheating after prolonged use and tripped an inbuilt safety cutout?, unlikely with a Dell though.
As you say Google reveals it is a common problem.
