Deleting squares

Get up very early each morning and start deleting them one-by-one. Take regular rest and meal breaks. But most importantly, mark with a very distinctive texture (a thick band of black coal works well) the last baseboards that you want deleted. There is nothing worse than spending an entire day (or several days) deleting baseboards and then discover that you have gone past your end point because the deleting process starts to become automatic after a short while.

The short answer: No - there is no way to do delete many baseboards at once.

Mr. pware has outlined and excellent method. (pun intended!)

The good news is you can zoom out quite a bit in T:ANE and delete the baseboards.

My method is to create a line of deleted baseboards along edge of what I want to keep first, then carve this up into chunks that I delete. I then save often because a mistake can't be undone while deleting baseboards!

One of the faster ways of deleting, where you can delete three baseboards in a single view, is to get down on the ground and click on the baseboards you can see in front of your camera view. When they can no longer be deleted, move forward and delete some more. By dividing the baseboards up into chunks, and separated from the part you want so you don't click on something in error. Using this method, I've been able to delete lots and lots of baseboards this way quite quickly.

Drawing the line along the border is a good idea though, particularly if you need to step away and come back later.

I open a map view and make it square. Right-click the mouse with the pointer hovering just inside a spot where 4 corners meet. The route will shift to that point. Then move the mouse to the main route and click 4 times, moving the mouse in a small square. That gets rid of 4 boards. Move back to the map view and repeat ad infinitum for the rest of your life.

Very frustrating when you want to merge two DEM's together such as the premade ones and you have to trim many baseboards to fit them together. There should have been an option to mass select baseboards to delete.

We've asked for this for years, but nothing has come of it.
