Well, it's official, the New Zealanders have taken Curb side service to a whole new level. This is in Christchurch.

A trolley in the mall. Seems so American, yet I don't think we have one in our nation of malls. Must be due to the recession. We'll have one soon. Maybe several.

Wow. Is England in the USA somewhere? Actually, the day after Thanksgiving (where we give thanks to the indigenous people for letting us slaughter them and steal their land and leave them to become casino owners) is the biggest shopping day ever and soccer moms get in fist fights at Wal-Mart over the new Elmo every year. I like shopping on-line.

Believe it or not, though I pitched as being a mall, it's not what that originally started as. According to the website "The Tram Station is at Cathedral Junction in New Regent Street, a quaint pedestrian mall refurbished to accommodate the tram route. Built in the 1930's in the Spanish Mission style, the street was planned as a shopping precinct, and marketed as “The Most Beautiful Street in New Zealand”. The first shopping mall ever built in New Zealand; it was converted to a pedestrian mall in 1994."

From what I understand, until 1994, this whole area was the carbarn and switching areas. In fact, they're still in there, but the trams now operate inside the pedestrian mall.

Not as as impressive, but Trams have run through the Bourke Srteet mall in Melbourne Australia for 30 years.
