I would like to make a thread mainly to compliment bnsf50 on his [or hers] grade crossings for 06 on the DLS. They are automated, bell, lights, gates you name it! I have a fictional railraod museum route [ever changing since July of last year] and am in the process of changing ALL my grade crossings to the above. I was disappointed with the crossings when I bought my game, with bnsf50's crossings, my game is almost complete! bnsf50, here's to you, and thank you for great crossings!
Cheers, Woody.

Have to agree 100%. I have replaced every crossing in almost all routes in TRS2006 with bnsf50's crossings.  :Y:

Congrats to bnsf50 for such great crossings.

Thank you all very much for the compliments and I/we are glad that you all enjoy them. As to the he or she, I Clem am the one that wades my way through Gmax building things, My wife Linda helps with the research and testing while I'm building them which speeds up the process considerably. We both use the same user name on the forum so it's hard to tell which one is speaking at times, which is ok, we're both ok with that.

You are truly a blessed man/woman, to have your spose interested in the same 'hobby' as you :)

Thanks to your both for your creations.

Cheers.

Yes! Thank you for the excellent content, and it's about time we had a thread for grade crossings. My overall interest in using Surveyor in TRS2006 was low, until I saw bnsf50's content on the DLS! I'm a railfan much like everyone else in this hobby, but I have a strong interest in track objects, such as crossings and signals, and how they work. I remember a few years ago when I first got Microsoft's Train Simulator, and I was disappointed with the "matchstick" like quality (or lack thereof...) of their grade crossing objects. Same with TRS04 and 06 defaults. Now, what they need to do is make the crossing signals activate sooner, especially when you have any approaching train doing 50mph or higher, the gates barely get all the way down before the train is barrelling through. Hopefully, TRS2009 might make some improvements in this area.

Also, I do hope that bnsf50's content will work with TRS2009.

What I really like about bnsf50's crossings are the fact that I can start moving train, go to free roam mode and sit by the crossing and watch the gate lights, and bells start. To me thats such a thrill, also thats why I'm a certified Train geek. Once again, Thank You to both of you, bnsf50!
Cheers,Woody

Yes my crossings work just fine in 09. I had to make some minor corrections to some of the alpha channels, so make sure you have the latest build numbers.
As to the activation of the crossings, no Auran didn't change a thing on that note in 09, even though they were asked to. However Boat made some triggers that will trip the crossings sooner. Check out this thread http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?p=392017&highlight=atls#post392017 down on the 1st and 2nd post. I haven't had a chance yet to try them out but they should solve your activation timing.

Yes they should do what you want. Version 2 has yet to hit the DLS though.... so hold fire. Read the ATLS V2 Tutorial for now. http://www.ahsanstrainz.co.uk/files/atls2.pdf . The 'Controlled Level Crossing Tutorial' will be on that site too..... (when I've written it)

Im glad I found this thread. For a long time I have wanted to thank bnsf50 for his/her/their fine work. Your grade crossings and freight cars are the benchmark that all others need to strive for.
Thank you, jkinzel
