This reply says it all ! Nice to know that someone will allways help you when you are new to trainz. A big thank you to all the many good guys (& girls) out there1) Put together the cars that you want, in the "right" order and direction.
2) Don't worry about giving cars loads, as the consist is always empty by default when you place it.
3) Go to the "trains" tab, "consist" menu, and use the "get consist" tool (lower left corner, IIRC). A box should pop up telling you to name your consist. Once you give it a descriptive name, hit OK (or the check mark, or whatever it is, I'm at school atm and can't double-check). Your consist should now be saved, and you should be able to place it as you would any other consist.
