I am also working on a smaller route in TRS2006, of just the Spiral Loop tunnels, that I plan at a later date for it to be extended from Lake Louise to Field BC.
I think Joosten is working on a Yellowhead Pass, and a CP route west of Field BC ? Is anyone else working on the CP BC Kicking Horse Pass-Spiral Loops route ?
It has a grade of 2.2% and starts out at @ 1350 meters elevation, and has a max elevation at the summit of @ 1550 meters. The Spiral Loops section takes about 20 minutes to traverse at 45mph. I believe the prototype takes much longer than that, as slow speed trainhandling is needed downhill, and uphill is strenious on the locomotives. Wow...that is noseblead elevation, @ 1 mile high. anybody actually visited the Spiral Tunnels, or that has information please contact me. I have watched many videos on the line.
I do not believe that there is a DEM of the route, so I am creating the terrain on @ 7 baseboards by hand, using 1km x 1km basemaps, and topo images.
Possibly if someone created a DEM of the route, my rendition would be out of scale, prototypically ? But the line is starting to look great, and I hope to post screenshots soon. It has no textures or trees at the present time, as my major challenge is reproducing the rugged topography, sweeping curvitures, and gradients.
There is a poorly done British Columbia, Canada, Spiral Loops route on DLS, that has Andi06 animated turnouts. But it is patheticly inacurate.
I believe that the Tehachapi Loop will be on the ( socalwb909 ) WIP route Bakeresfield to San Bernardino. Suprisingly no one has created the Williams Loop, nor the Kedie Wye in Trainz.
