Coupler Realism Switch

Absolute Hack
Ok, heres my Situation. I'm running 2006 w/sp1 and the TPR Humpyard Kit ver.1. I am in midst of making a proto route from some dem's. At this stage in the development I am laying down the humpyard and using the elevations from the dem to keep the humpyard grade as prototypical as possible. Now, I am having some issues with the grade being too steep for the TPR humphard kit and the heavy cars accelerating too quickly, which leads to coupler breakage at couple. I don't want to change any of the elevations and I want the route to run with all physics set to full realism, (Coupler Physics) and run this in CAB mode, so my only two options as I see it are:

1. Excessive amount of Middle Retarders. (Which are hard to manage durring setup and will yield different car speeds based on loaded/unloaded weight)

2. Create a way to be able to turn off and on the coupler physics via an active trigger or user configurable switch durring the driver session, which would allow the cars to couple at a higher speed but not take the realistic coupler physics away from the driver session when driving the train on the route.

Any help or ideas would be great.
