Couple More Questions

Is it possible to simulate bumpy (rough) track - trains moving up and down and side to side a little?
Is there a way to stop trains going through/hitting each other at a diamond?

PEV has a tool that will add a rocking motion to rolling stock. Seach "Sway" and you should find a link.

As for bumpy track there is all ways what I do. Ad a spline point every 10 or less feet from one another. The set the height of each one just a a slight bit off from the last. I have a siding that has them every 10 feet, the heights are some what like this: 389.50-388.90-389.70-390.70 and so on. That gives you a bumpy/lumpy track.

And your last question, yes there is a way. Don't drive two trains through the same diamond at the same time. You can set up signals and use the ASB interlocong control to prevent that from happening. Or find a better dispatcher.

Well, I'll try the asb inter-whatever controller, I can't control if 2 trains want to go through the diamond cause they are AIs.

You could use a track mark, tell the one AI to drive to track mark and wait for a trigger. Then, when ever the other train rolls by it hits the trigger releasing the other train.

Then youll need the ASB Crossover Controller and the triggers for it. Not too hard to set up. It basically sets a red in front of what ever train is coming to the diamond if another is all ready there.

Haven't tried the asb inter-whatever controller yet myself, what I used was Trigger Multiple Signals,<kuid2:116387:26:1>

Give every signal guarding the diamonds a name, add triggers on the tracks and adjust radius, then in the template session add the Trigger Multiple Signals rule and edit to specify which trigger controls what signals. For examples;

Chicago Metro 3,<kuid:522774:100015>

Chicago Metro 3 sparks 10,<kuid:522774:100012>
Primary junction for that session is Tower 18, altho the canal bridges also have triggers on the invisible ship track.

chimet 3 40th 3020,<kuid:522774:100014>
Primary location for that is Western Avenue Interlocking, 4 tracks crossing over 4 tracks. That one took some serious trialing and erroring, mostly erroring. :hehe:

Is the asb controller on the DLS? I'm going to try that, if I can figure out how it works, but I can't seem to find it.

1) There is, and some trains do have this script domain. Maybe someone else can shed some light on which ones are scripted to sway and shake, but I'm positive the Moscow Metro trains are.

2) There is a rule to protect a diamond crossing. You will need to set up signals facing the crossing itself and name them, then set up the rule to protect the crossing.

Hi boyerm25,

Yes, ASB Crossover is on the DLS and is free. There are several assets needed to set it up and there is a pdf Tutorial on my website.
See http://www.boatztrainz.co.uk/page4.htm for DLS links to the assets.

Its specifically designed to protect diamond crossovers and works for single track or multiple track and bi-directional track too. It works for both AI trains and manually driven ones too. It's designed to avoid SPADS in operation.

(For reference ASB Turnout is the payware one... which protects and controls double track turnouts... so a different job)

Hi JIb228, Thanks for the mention... Just noticed your comments...

For the record, ASB Crossover in fact doesn't set a red in front of whatever train is coming if another is already there.

In fact the ASB sets default red to ALL approaches to the crossover and only releases one when a train approaches, provided there isn't another already there.

Sound similar I know but the difference is that the way you described could lead to SPADS. Doing it as ASB Crossover works, SPADS are very unlikely if not impossible.

As I say... just for the record, hope you didn't mind the correction.

Cheers,

Boat
