Could there be...

Any 4 track work to DL? Would like to lay some 4 track lengths of mainline instead of working with the 2 track in trainz. Thanks.

I'm not personally aware of any four track splines, but I would be surprised if there aren't any on the DLS. You could use some of the track 'jigs', 'spacers', or 'templates' to make your four track out of the double track, or out of four single tracks. But you probably know that already.

In general, multitrack splines are the lazy way to lay track, and results in inferior looking curves.

The above MB Track has a 4 meter track spline point spacing, and is prototypical to the PRR 13.5 foot track spacing. I have found that 4.5 & 5 meter track spacing looks way, far too wide apart.

You will find when making curves with 2, 3, 4 multitrack splines, the curves will have whoop-dee-do's, where the multitrack curves away from the straight sections of track.

Multitrack splines are great for initial track spacing templates, for the straight sections. But they fail horribly in curves.

All curves should be single tracks, and while you're at it replacing multitrack curves, you might as well replace the multitrack straight sections as well in the final stage of the route.

I use MB_4m_finescale_quad_4m, and replace it with single track, after I have the curves & gradients installed.

Oh for gods sake, do you do this all the time? If he wants to have 4 track splines let him have it. Is it your route? If not then stop finding all the critacal points of everything.

That's because I do, know exactly, what I am talking about.

If you have ever laid multitrack splines, you would see the misalignment, and swerves.

Snap to grid tunnels also, do this kinky, swervey, whoop-dee-doo misalignment, when a curve is connected to the tunnel.

There is also a UK Quad track that is a built-in asset.

Lay multitrack splines, and you will see what I mean.

Multitrack splines can not be straightened, either.

Multitracked splines are my favorite track spacing tool, and I always use them to set up straightaways ... I could not achive a proper tracklaying spacing without using multitrack splines as a tool ... but I always replace the multitrack, with single track in the finished route.

It has also been widely said that using multi track can cause major problems with AI as the track direction is all the same way as apposed to up-down.
I used to use multi track when I first started with Trainz, and still have my first route installed, but boy does it look awful now when I compare it to what I make now using only single track.
Plus I don't have all the AI problems anymore.

I use my own 'way gauges' - short lengths of fixed track spaced correctly to UK standards, either double or triple track which I find can be used in combination to form multiple tracks of any number, naturally deleting them after flex track has been laid. The first eg. double track only takes a few minutes to set up in TACS/GMax, and from that cloning can be used to make anything needed. I also tend to make others as I need them, eg. to space 3ft 6ins tram tracks. As they are set up as 'useadjoiningtracktype 1' they can be used to space any chosen single track splines - or fixed track lengths if needed.

I've DL some Mike 10 3 & 6 lane yard tracks. How do or where do you place switch levers to switch the tracks?

Those are pretty old. I've never gotten them to work in TRS2004 and above. I think they were meant for the earlier Trainz versions.

What I have done though is used them as templates. I place the 6-track version down, and lay my own track on top of them, using them as guides. When I'm done, I delete the fixed track object.
