Does anyone know how to control speed of individual trains.Obviously goods trains will be limited to lower max speed than passenger ones. I;ve looked through the manual but I can't find anything that tells you how to do it. Can anybody help please?.

You can try the VSB kuid:102060:22090 or 102060:22091

Hi, I note your suggestions but I don't think it means you can control individual trains. I've tried it, it just seems to adjust the overall speed for the route unless I'm doing all wrong.

If you add the Max Speed lines to locomotive and rolling stock (mainly goods wagons is a good idea ). As has been suggested to you previously, then that consist w ill only travel at the maximum speed of the slowest loco or piece of rolling stock.

IE: 4F 0-6-0 with line added max speed 60mph
20x unfitted vans all with the line added @ 35mph

That consist under AI control will not exceed 35mph.

IKB.

I think you could clone various rolling stock with different max permitted speeds for various types of semi-fitted freight, but it would be very time-consuming.

Hi Harold

If you haven't already got the Maximum Permitted Speed rule you can download it from here and there is an explanation of how to set it up.

You don't say which version of trainz you are using but this rule is built into TC3 and the built in stock all incorporate it as far as I know.

I think that you can use VSB (there are some built in) and then set trains at priorities corresponding to the speed you want (i.e express passenger, priority 1; passenger/ light freight priority 2 and heavy fright priority 3)

Im not sure but if it isn't like that could someone mod it?

Thanks for all your replies,I'll try them out and get back to you to let you know how I get on.Hopefully it will apply to all versions of Trainz,I've got 2004,2006,2009 and TC.
