Continuing with Edge County...caution large pictures.

With the townsite of Thurmont, I thought I would try a blend of structures with backdrops. This way I could give the appearance of a town without the added task of actually building one. I deem the results to be 'not bad'. You may have other opinions and feel free to share them .

This screenshots show "Wood Buffalo Park" or "Buffalo Park on the trackside sign. Just outside of Edmonton we have the real very same park. The only difference is that we don't have as many Buffalo in ours as I show in mine. This just makes for a slight diversion for the passengers as they do their travelling.

Not bad you say? Jeepers!! I would say stupendous - at best. Great - at worst.

Can we see more?

A must have for me. I live in Central PA, so you could lose the buffalo clumps, but I can do that myself.:)

If your job is interfering with your completion of the route, perhaps a few weeks of "calling in sick" would help.:D

.....'Great' will do! And yes, you may lose the Buffalo if you wish. As for the job......I would love to but no can do! You'll just have to suffer through the wait.

Very nice use of backdrops! I love it! I'm building a route and maybe I'll have to add some backdrops to get rid of the lack of draw distance in this game.

VERY NICE INDEED!!!

I may have to put backdrops on my narrow gauge layout im working on, with around 30 miles of track criss crossing across the boards, they would help discuise the edge

.......there is a large selection of Backdrops (Backgrounds) now available. I am surprised more people don't use them. I am sure one can be found to fit almost any route design. And yes, it does help when it comes to adding some depth as well as saving on having to add extra scenic detail which can affect performance.

Thank ish6. I know you guys at TPR do some great work on routes judging from the screenshots I see. I have wondered though with all the trees, grass and what appears to be a lot of detail......are you guys getting good frame rates? If so can you share what your settings are in the config. file.

From my experience, TPR's routes are very easy on the machine. I have only 512 Megs of RAM, and a lower end Video card, and they run well on my machine. I pretty much use the default settings. This looks like an excellent work, Roy. I am looking forward to it.

Great shots roymac. You can remove the splinepoints from your shots by using Alt fly or alt U if you are in TRS06. Again, great shots.

Thanks Jack for the tip however, it was passed on to me already and it has been used in my current set of screenshots. And, I have to admit it does make the screenshot look better when they (splinepoints) are not present.

roymac :)
