ContentManager v2.0

Hi all,
I owned a previous version of Trainz but now have the 2009 edition, I am trying to get to grips with the ContentManager. I have registered my serial-number for 2009 and have entered my username and password in the Internet section.

When I select the Download Station tag I get 'There are no items to display' and the 'hourglass' is spinning. But nothing happens, no list of available assets or anything. If I move the mouse then the 'hourglass' turns back into a normal cursor and nothing else happens.

I've tried using the Download Station through my IE7 web browser but just get 'Page cannot be displayed' when it tries to access the URL : trainz://install/<KUID:67585:1007>

How do I get ContentManager to actual list the available assets to download?

Or how do I get IE7 to do something with the URL trainz://install/<KUID:67585:1007>?

I am running Vista 32-bit.

running a fire wall??? do you have the lastes patch for 09?????
do you let cmp have permission with eth fire wall

Thanks for the tips. I am running Trainz through Steam so have the lastest patch.

But I'll trying running Steam as administrator and check the firewall. ContentManager does manage to login to Auran OK, so it would be strange if the DownloadStation then used different ports, but you never know.

In a different thread Relick was having CMP trouble and he concluded the thread with this:

"Seems that Windoze Vista is the culprit. After reading a few suggested posts, I changed all of the 06 .exe files to run under windoze xp emulation. Content manager now does it's bit without stopping etc. files seems to save and nothing has been lost tonight. Thanks to ALL of you that offered suggestions and advice. "

Maybe something there can help you?

I think that changing the compatibility mode has done the trick. The ContentManager now tells me it's downloading the list of assets, but never seems to complete, or give me any update on progress. However, I can now type the URL into IE7 and the ContentManager then launches and downloads the assets.

So for now I can at least browse the website and download.

Thanks for the help.
