I have downloaded from the Download Station successfully a locomotive, and when I launch trainz and go to rail-yard it is there. When I go into creating a route for example in Surveyor it is not in the area with all of the other locomotives. What am I doing wrong?

Second, I have downloaded a few things from the content area and it reads for example "2 assets downloaded successfully, with no errors, with no dependencies" yet when I go to add it in a route the item is no longer there.

I could do with a bit more information, specifically your system specifications (especially your operating system), before I can give you an accurate answer.

Also, I could do with knowing which version (and build) your (current) version of Trainz is (i.e. the one you are using to download the asset(s)), in case you need a patch.

System is windows 7 home premium, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU@1.60GHz. RAM 4GB, 64-bit operating system

Trainz build is 42203. When I launch the first screen does say I need to update the build. What build should I use?

OK, I will start from the beginning here.

Firstly, in Windows Vista or 7, Trainz should be run as administrator.

To do this:

1.Right-click the Trainz shortcut.
2.Click Properties.
3.Click Compatibility.
4.Click in the box labelled 'run this program as an administrator' to place a tick.
5.Click OK.

As for the patching, you can download the patch to take it up to build 44088 (the latest stable build) from http://download.ts2009.com/patch/42203_to_44088.exe (make sure you turn your antivirus software off during the patching - once you have downloaded the patch, it can be installed without needing an internet connection)
