Hi,

When ever i try to start the content manager nothing happens. I click content in the trainz launcher and the launcher closes and then nothing. I even tried opening the content manager by using the .exe file but still nothing. I have reinstalled trainz twice and both times i get the same results. I am running windows 7 x64.
edit.
It does show up under processes in the task manager.

Which version are you having a problem with?
Did your computer pass all tests in TrainzDiag.exe, especiallly OpenGL?
If you monitor the Task Manager processes does the Launcher quit when you click Content? Does ContentManager appear in the process list and it's CPU time go to 00?
Do you have an Asset.tdx in the version that is a problem? What is its size?

I am using ts2010.
Yes my pc passes all the tests
Yes the launcher quits when i click content.
The cpu usage for contentmanager.exe is 25.

I dont see any files called asset.tdx in the trainz folder.

btw the ts2009 version does the same.

edit.
I found the asset.tdx in the ts2010/userdata folder.

As long as the ContentManager.exe in the Task Manager is using 25% CPU, it's trying to rebuilding the asset database and its index assets.tdx. That's why you don't have an assets.tdx. If you've had this problem more that a few hours you could try re-entering your username and password in CM - File - Settings- Internet and also in your Profile in the forum, re-enter your password and save. If things don't impove you should click the Helpdesk tab and open a ticket.

I let it go overnite with no results. I installed it on another computer with windows 7 x64 and it worked right away with no problem. the second pc is infurior to my main.

I've found that it is better to get Trainz itself to re-create the asset database (clicking Start rather than Manage Content), rather than CMP - it's a bit quicker at doing it (takes about 20-30 minutes) and usually does not encounter problems with Launcher.exe still running (which, if I remember, if Launcher is running, CMP is unable to re-create the database due to a database lock) - please correct me if I am wrong.

I installed windows 7 again on my main pc so now I am dual booting with 2 windows 7 installations and i installed trainz on the second one and everything works fine. So that means that the issue is not with trainz and the problem is somewhere else within the first windows installation. I will continue to play around with it and if i figure out a solution i will post it on here for if anyone else suffers from the same issue.
