To create a bookmark, which is essentially a quick way of reaching a desired point on your map, place your curser on the point you wish to mark then double right click on one of the bookmark icons. That icon should then turn green. Move away from the bookmarked location then left click on the green bookmark icon - you should be transferred back to the bookmarked location. On large routes, bookmarks are ideal for marking towns, industries or consist locations that you might need to visit frequently.
To use the inbuilt filter, left click on the filter icon, which provides a drop down. You will notice a + (plus sign). Click on that and a drop-down icon will appear. For this example, click on regeion. On the right side another drop-down will appear for the region you seek (starting with Afghanistan. Type in "united' and you will see the menu will take you to those regions beginning with "United". Click on the United States. Once you have done that you will find that any content you wish to add will only be that designed for the United States. Play with the filter functions, they are really quite easy once you work them out. Also, next to the wording 'Content Filter, you will notice a drop-down arrow - when you click on that a small window will drop down displaying filters you have used during your current session marked as 'Today'. You can also save filter functions you might regularly use as a quick method of reapplying those functions. For example; bring up the United States filter, then press save, give it a name in the text box such as 'US' and it will be saved to the drop-down window. Next time you want to use that filter simply click on the arrow, then the 'US' icon you created and your United States filter will be applied.
The next tool is the Pick List. I find this particularly handy when repeatedly using particular content, which saves you having to continually searching for it. To include content, for example Bridge 2t Brick, locate that item using the search function, or looking in the 'track mode tag'. Onceyou have found it click on that bitem in the menu so that it is highlighted then Right Click on the white highlighted Bridge 2t Brick. Holding down bot the trl Kek and the Right Mouse Key, drag the writing across into the Pick List Box and release both keys. And there you have it, a shot-cut for Bridge 2t Brick. Play around to get the feel for these tools, they will save you a lot of time.
