Committing Assets

When I first start Trainz2006, a message appears saying that there are still assets to be committed. However, when I was in Content Manager Plus and clicked the Trainz icon on the toolbar, I clicked "yes" when asked if I wanted to commit the uncommitted assets. The progress bar fills smoothly, as I assume that that they're now committed. But I still get that first message when I start Trainz from scratch. What might I be doing wrong?

Also, I've noticed that when a downloaded asset is listed in the Main View Panel in CMP, right clicking on the asset, then selecting "View Asset in.." often shows the three choices (Surveyor, Drive, and Rail Yard) grayed out. Is that something else I'm doing wrong or is this more of the "committing" problem I have?

Finally, can you move an asset from Rail Yard to Surveyor so you can use it in a session? I downloaded a CB&Q F7A and F7B. It's visible only in RailYard. Does that mean I can't use it in Surveyor?

Sorry for the deluge of questions, but I've spend a lot of time in the manual, searching Forum for similar questions, and experimenting with live downloads. Thanks for helping.

In CMP click on Files - Settings - Miscellaneous and check the box to Automatically Commit.

View In only works for certain types of assets:
Routes - View in Surveyor
Sessions - View in Surveyor or Driver
Traincars - View in Railyard

Does CMP show any errors or missing dependencies for the F7s? If so fix them.

Where did you get the CB&Q F7s? What are their kuid numbers?

Bob,

I found the CB&Q F7s via a link from a page somewhere in Auran, but I can't seem to find it now. Best of all, they were free, along with a few other locos, rolling stock, etc. Unfortunately, I can't look up the kuid number for the locos because the computer that had Trainz installed finally gave up the ghost after six years, so I'll have to wait until my new one arrives and I get it set up.

Thanks for your response to my questions.
