Coming back to Trainz

Hi all, for various reasons, didn't do much with Trainz after registering Trainz 2010 EE, and kind of out of the loop, so to speak. After seeing that Auran hasn't abandoned Trainz, Im getting interested again, after seeing Trainz 12 is coming out. Wanted to ask, does 2010 EE work with Ubuntu Linux 11(Im trying to ditch Windows) ? And will the upcoming Trainz 12? Who are some of the kind content developers now-a-days? Looking forward to being able to spend time with Trainz again (Became laid-off from work due to disability over a year ago, Social Security disability is nerve-wracking to deal with, still working my way to a hearing). Thanks to Auran for the program, and thanks in advance to the content-developers.

Get a lawyer.

Welcome back. It does, but some have said they have difficulty getting ContentManager to work properly. Actually, if you just search for "Ubuntu" - particularly this forum - you can probably get all the details and then some.

FYI, I'm in the same boat as far as Windows goes, personally (although I must support it professionally.) It may help you to know that Trainz runs great under XP; if anything, it seems to run better and with less headaches under XP than either Vista or Win7.

Yep, already engaged a lawyer, but its still a slow process. Back to Trainz, what about running Trainz in virtualbox? I have a licensed ver of Windows XP 64 I could load into it. Or maybe WINE? I will look at different newer content and see if anything I like, basically freight and freight locos. I can dual-boot so could start up Windows 7 for it(try not to tho, but cousins want to play their windows games) if its needed.
