Coal loading problem

Could any please explain why one of my coal mines doesn't load my wagons properly?

I have 15 EWS HTA wagons. The train follows its route fine, goes to the loading track and executes the load command.

However, It loads 2 wagons, misses 3 then loads one more and thats it !

The industry properties won't allow me to set the initial amounts any higher and I have checked that the wagons are enabled for that commodity.

The commodity level while loading is high so I don't understand whats going on.

Anyone?

If you want specific help you have to post kuid numbers of the coal mine and the wagons you're loading.

In general, check the initial quantity of the coalmine and its replenishment rate. Then check to quantity loaded per wagon and the number of wagons. The numbers have to add up or some wagons won't get loaded.

Of course - kuid's are a must. It was late when I posted and didnt think.

The coal hoppers are the ones downloaded together with a Class from Halfdan, but individually they are as follows:

<kuid2:56063:150001:1>
By Majekear (originally by eldavo)
Set for coal with a max load of 92500

The mine I am trying to use is on the ECML map as "Hatfield Colliery Pickup"

The details in driver show as "Ollerton Colliery part 9", although when I look in content manager the part numbers 1-8 are there is part 10 but no part 9 so I cannot give a kuid for that one.

Its settings in surveyor are:

Consumes rate zero / start amount 3,000,000

Produces rate 30 (30secs) / start amount 3,000,000

The start amounts were the highest it would let me set.

Sorry to be vague, but that part 9 doesnt appear as being built in or on the DLS

The mine starts off correctly at 3,000,000 units, then falls to 2,907,500 and then 2,815,030. At that point it stops loading the wagons, even thought the load process still happens.

I did notice that one, maybe two random wagons get loaded as it passes through, so my assumption is that it won't load if the commodity is below a certain figure. It just seem a very high number to stop loading at.

I've had a look at this and got 1 wagon to load, so far your ahead of me.
In CM use keywords and put ollerton in. It pulls everything up including 9+10.

Thats strange. I would assume if it's not in CM then it shouldn't appear in driver.

I have tried with 32 of the built in "BR ZHV Mineral Wagon" and they loaded fine, although the total combined amount of coal is less than the 15 HTA wagons.

Ollerton was the term I searched for aswell as Hatfield Colliery, which obviously it isnt, but thats what you navigate to in driver.

I've just tried it with br hybar 13t open. No's 1 3 5 7 didn't load the other 10 did. Seems the ones that didn't load are overunning the load mark by a bit (only a foot or so) so not triggering the load sequence. Put the cursor on the track where the wheel touches when one loads you'll see what I mean.
Tried with 20 bnsf hoppers not one loaded.

Ok, so that seens to have narrowed it down to an asset issue.

Thanks for testing those. I'm going to feed my face and come back to it :D

The solution is to put a speed limit down, I used 5kph because it was the first I found. Each wagon then stops in the correct spot for loading regardless of size, 13t wagon or 100t gondola.

I have a 5mph limit in place either side of the loading area. One the load command is initiated, speed limits don't come into play, as the AI takes over.

It seems to be that the load point on the wagons needs to fall at a certain point under the chute. If this point is very small on the asset then as the load point on the wagons varies ever so slightly, it doesn't load.

I have just found Ollerton 9. The search was set to DLS instead of built in - DOH!

** Workaround **

I don't like using it as it just doesn't look right, but "Instaload" has come to my rescue.

DieselDesires,
For future reference, if you edit your TrainzOptions.txt file to add:
-showkuids
then Surveyor will show the kuid numbers of assets as you select them. Thats easier than trying to search names in CM3.3.

Thanks for that suggestion.

I had something like that at the back of my mind but couldn't quite remember where I had seen it or what it was called.

Nice reminder.
