CM download issues TS2009

I actually can't remember when I last had downloads working properly; but quitting CM and re-starting it used to generally make it struggle on a bit more.

However; I currently seem to have a persistent problem; in that the blue bar would indicate that the download has finished but CM just sits there doing .. nothing. I've tried clearing the cache\internet folder, but that didn't help. It looks like there's a 0.98MB CMP file in there; which is actually a bit short of the full size of the file it's trying to download.

I don't have a FCT; but would it help? I don't want to (and shouldn't have to) spend more money just to make the downloads work. I can understand paying more for a faster download speed; but if it just gets to the same point and stops in 30 seconds instead of 4 minutes ....

Anyone got any suggestions?

If you get an asset that seems to stall DLH ie blue bar stops, delete it. DLH will go back to its rest position with Start legend on button in lieu of Stop. Then restart DLH and download should continue. You can try later to D/L the stalled asset. Sometimes it will D/L.

There are about 8% of D/Ls that produce a file access error (FAE). This is totally random and problem not yet found. Go to Open for Edit and you will find all FAE still open. Select All and run View Errors and Warnings. This will commit most of them on the first pass. Repeat until all are committed.

I tried Wiresharking the download; it looks like it downloads okay:

Just having downloaded it CM2 just sits there. I've found that the bigger the file the more likely CM2 is to get 'stuck'; I've resorted to downloading bigger files via FTP; but that's a bit of a pain to do for lots of assets.
