Clearing derailments

I am really new to this I got trainz 2006 as a gift..I love it!! I have been working wooth the AI drivers in the industrial wasteland. Once a session I have a derailment is there any way to clear this mess from the tracks and rest them or do you have to start the session all over again from the last save point....

You have to start it all over again or from saved point, it's a problem, some sessions I've done on 2006 get derailments at 2-3 kph and it's anoying how you can't just clear the mess as you would in real life.

My first derailment occurred running the Commodities Tutorial. After loading up with oil, the loop took the train back over the switch that took it off the main line to the oil wells. The switch had been set for a track other than the one I was on. No matter what speed, the UP loco got thrown half up the mountain. Only when manually setting switch back would it pass through.

Was not used to this as MSTS never cared about which way a switch was thrown when coming from the opposite direction. Seems more realistic, but I thought AIs took care of throwing their own switches.

Just started Trainz 2006 this week, so have not had lots of track time. Just now getting into the forums.

you can go into the trainz set up and turn the derailmnet off, for right now

What would be nice, is a means to not just clear a derailed train........but to actually re-rail it. That way, if you desire, your train would not be lost.

I think there may be a portal to achieve this, but I would like to see it re-rail where it derailed, after the emergency crew finished their work.

Just a thought!!

Re-railing

There is a Portal that Re-reails de-railed trains in TRS2004. It should be on the DLS look under "portal". I do not know if it functions in 06. I put one on every "layout" I use just for the abillity to clear fouled tracks. If I remember I will try (don't hold your breath) to find the KUID.

There is a Re-Rail Portal basic by Magg <kuid2:116387:6:1>.It's works good just place it on your map making sure to have enough track for the train to emerge from completely.

Looks like danny5 beat me to the KUID; that's the one, and I try to put one one all the maps I run frequently.

wouldnt it be nice if somone make mod or add on "wrecker crane"? once it derail, click command and other loco hook to crane and bring it to the wreck site.
is there a wrecker crane add on? i cant find it.
Im new to trainz 2006.

thanks

Hi Richard,

That is an excellent idea. It may have been mentioned before, but certainly is worth asking again.

It would be nice to see a derailment actually fixed where it happened. Even if it does take "X" amount of time.

Derailed Vehicle Eraser

Add the rule 'Derailed Vehicle Eraser' to the session - on the DLS here...

Ummm.... How?

I got my TRS2006 version 2.5 way back in late 2005 when I did not have internet so I never used the Auran "ticket" to access their download station. Since then I have moved house twice and lost the original packaging with my serial number so I can't jon now (June 2009).

I would like to have this rule but I cannot get it from Auran site. Is it available off site somewhere?

If you check your profile (button at top of thread) your serial no should be listed under the trainz tab.

man,m thet re-rail portal works great in 06

Well I did that but no derial number is listed because I never registered in the first place.

Is the derail rule available off line?

well you need to register it so you can get help from the help desk when you need it and you will get other forums to post in,,,
