Classic train photos

I created this thread for all the classic photos that one might have. And don't post anything of the big roads--this thread is for before 1990, so keep 'em classic. For those who don't know, think of photos of the BN U30C's roaring out of the Powder River Basin or those colorful ATSF Warbonnets and the ol' yellow and blue freight units; or the black and orange of the ol' D&RGW SD40T-2 tunnel motors grappling over Tennessee Pass. If you catch a photo of a surviving engine still in original colors or a patched unit then feel free to post then here, but no modern engines nor modern paint schemes!!

Another little gem I found on railpictures.

I suppose Australian National would fall into this category. I'll have to dig out some of my shots.

Any classic train photos before 1990 are welcome, grms. I find most of mine from railpictures since I wasn't alive in the 1980s to be able to see these fallen flags.

Classic old-school EMD power.................Always a good thing and always neat to see! Those yard-only SD9s are a neat catch!

And I really hated the butcher job from SACTO's GRIP program, but today it doesn't look too bad.

Once upon a time, a group of children got a close-up look at Norfolk & Western Railway (N&W) Class J steam locomotive #603 at the railroad's shop complex in Roanoke, Virginia (VA).
