Hey mbv67, here I'm also BRClass22 at the UKtrainsim forums which why I haven't posted anything major in the past couple of days. I also need to talk about the Brush type 2 in these schemes: 1, the Class 31 Being in British Rail Green livery Full yellow end with the Double arrow logo and the Class 31 in Post-1967 Rail Blue livery (Two double arrows under each cab and the Sans Gill pre TOPS numbers behind the Cab door; take Triang Hornby model number D5572 or D5580 for example.) Second, many locomotives still in green got the Regular 1960's British Railways logo replaced with the double arrow logo and they carried full yellow ends and lastly third, the Standard rail blue livery with the arrow logo in the center of the locomotive and pre TOPS numbers under the cab like the regular Green Class 31 before they got full yellow ends. Plus, I really like the Class 31 with the Disk headcodes.

If you have a picture of a class 31 in BR Green livery Full yellow end with the Double arrow logo, I would be very interested in seeing it, I can't recall ever seeing a green 31 with double arrow.

There's one in the 1970 Ian Allan Combined volume - 5518. Done up for royal train duty by the look of it. Black and white picture though.....:hehe:

EDIT: It seems I have a colour picture of it at Liv Street, procured off t'internet somewhere.......

and here's another, 5624 at KX

I used to do all my early "spotting" at Doncaster in the 60's, I can remember them in green with the old lion totem & in blue with the double arrow in the 70's but cannot remember ever seeing that version, so it's a "cop" for me :D

Mind you, Donny works were no slouch with the paint brush, and I seem to recall they sent a lot of 31's over to the WR around the time that they were going over to the BR Blue livery, so it's not surprising that I missed this. :o

Colour pic please if you can find it. (save me having to trawl t'internet)

RPA British Loco Directory

The Class 31's were sent to replace the remaining Class 22 Diesel Hydraulics.

Actually photos of said Class 31 Are on the Internet But are mainly found on the RPA British Loco Directory site. I used that site to find a decent photo for chrisaw for help on his NBL type 4 Warship buffer beam area. Right now he said he is working on some excellent GWR Signals so the Class 41 is on hold for awhile.

Have looked on RPA, but no decent pics of her in green, she is only an hours drive from me at Shakerstone, but she is now painted in blue.
