Chicago Union Station

I am attempting to model the Chicago Union Station in Modern times, and I need some help finding information about the layout of tracks and signals for the station:
Untitled.jpg

In the green box, from pictures I think the turnouts are No. 9 with 13 ft track centers

In the Red box, it is 192 ft from one switchpoint to the opposing switchpoint on the same track,I believe that it is 15 ft between the centerlines

In the Blue box, I used http://web.me.com/willvdv/chirailfan/tstcus.html and a 2002 study of the station; I know the track spacing of the tracks under the skylight portion based on http://www.unionstationmp.com/wp-co...ailwayAge-1925-0704-Chicago-Union-Station.pdf

the Northside I did based on http://www.arema.org/files/library/2006_Conference_Proceedings/037.pdf

can anyone provide the types of turnouts, the arrangement of signals, the layout of the tracks inside Union Station

I fear I cant help you with your question, but do want to point out to you that this file is on your PC and as a result not visible for the rest of the world. You will have to host it somewhere on the internet in order for us to be able to see it.

as oknotsen said, I can't really help specifically. However I can point you in the direction of some useful information.
  • Chicago Transit & Railfan as some good track maps of the various Metra Routes & stations including CUS: http://web.me.com/willvdv/chirailfan/index.html
  • There is a book out there about the history of CUS; I picked my copy up from the Illinois Railway Museum, but you can get it elsewhere. I don't recall the name off hand but it has a lot of info about the past & the present.
  • Amtrak provided a simple track plan of CUS ones (they might still do) you can find that image by googling. It tells you how many tracks there are and the track layout. However it is not 100% accurate as it's drawn up for Amtrak & Metra passengers not modelers.
  • There is an issue of Trains Mag which talks about Amtrak's Chicago operations & has a good map of the Amtrak Yard there.
  • Google Earth (or Maps) as well as Bing Maps can provide some great Arial shots of the yards and the entrances to the station.

I once had an acurate layout of CUS & the 3 yards surrounding it; however I lost it in a computer crash & have never re done it.
