Chicago Transit Authority (cta) Pics!

Nice elevated Ish, I'm sure Klinger will appreciate them!

Hi Ed,

Certainly hope you are well these days, dear friend!

Actually, when Will stated that he's using NYC TA and other contents in building his layout, I searched the DLS for any Chicago related contents (subway/elevated)! To my surprise there was none, so I decided to go with this project!

I'm having fun with it!!

for corners (and allowing for other odd bits) why not make some trestles and have the supports separate?

Hey Peter,

Yeah, that's was part of my plan, since it seems the vertexes will take forever to merge, etc:'( ... if I do it separately then it will become 4 pieces instead of one!!

Ish, if there is nothing I use from all your creations but one thing (which i doubt will be the case, I am sure I will use lots of your stuff) it will be the support girders!

Any change you can make the support girders (or feet) of the elevated structure an expandable spline? And Backdate it to 06?your girders look a billion times better then the old UTC ones I have been using, they would match up to FloridaRailMaster's stuff easier in terms of detail. If they were an spline, they would be Perfect for my use! Since the El structure goes over streets and alleys, there is not always a consistant distance between feet (girders) it changes quite a bit. So being able to change their width would be helpful! Hell for the Northside main line, making supports with a single "foot" just as a regular building would save me a huge amount of work! I thought I was going to have to make some of this stuff myself!

Hey Jim

Thanks for participating -- just looked at your links and I got some ideas ... the trestles in your link I have never seen before so will modified what I have done and bring those too!!

One Sign I know all to well is the car spacing sign. Its about 8inch by 8inch, yellow, about 3 or 4 feet tall and numbered 4, 6, or 8, with a 10 in some places in the Loop. They are used on curves or stations to alery the engineer how many cars are clear of a curve or switch

Very nice 2000 series Klinger! :) Can't wait for it's arrival! I assume there'll be a RWB(without the black on the sides) and an Mint-Alpine version as well?
