Greetings from New Zealand.
I have been given TRAINZ vers 1.3 as a gift and I downloaded some old steam engines and other buildings to add on to this game just to make it a little better. I have downloaded them but I cannot find a way to add them to the game.
I have looked at all the files in this game and have not found any CDP files.
Have I downloaded the wrong additions for this version of game?
Can some kind person help this old train guy out
Thanks and have a great weekend:p

Welcome to Trainz, oldtrainguy.

I'm not familiar with version 1.3, but with other versions, all you need to do is double-click on the CDP and it will extract its self to the correct place.

There are others here that could help you more with this older version I'm sure.

Hello oldtrainguy
Welcome to Trainz. Your version is quite old now so you may not be able to get all the assets you would like. On the download station only tick the trainz box. The download helper will automaticaly put the downloaded item into your dispatcher folder and you wont get a CDP file unless you set it up to save it aswell. If you download using the FTP then you will be asked were to save the file. Once saved click on the icon and it will open and instasll for you.
Play around with your version but think about a newer version which contain far more activities.
Best of luck. keith

CDP files are no-go with that version, your only way to download is from the download station filtering out all but the original Trainz content (as Stagecoach says). Later versions are really cheap now on budget labels so you should get either 2004 or 2006 (which unfortunately appear under a bewildering number of titles just to make life difficult) or you will be pretty disappointed. Despite adverse comments on these forums about various niggles that are still not fixed, there was a sea change to both 2004 and then again to 2006. While early content is largely compatable with later versions, the same is not true in reverse, and it's difficult to identify what content works with what version.
