Catenary wires, side by side, put loco smoke out of alignment.

Milwaukee Road Avery-Drexel by tume was cloned by me in TANE SP4, modified there and imported into TS 2022. The exhaust smoke from diesel and steam locomotives is not positioned correctly under the following conditions:

The smoke-generating locos are traveling below one of a pair of catenary wires running side by side as this route is mostly electrified.

If the locos travel along a line with just a single wire overhead, the smoke acts normal. If the train travels on a section with no electrification then smoke behaves proper also.

This wonky smoke behavior has never occurred in TANE on this route. What is going on, pray tell me please?

Sounds like you have PhysX simulation enabled which is known to cause these weird things.
If you turn it off, it should then resolve those weird issues. Trainz launcher > settings > performance tab and uncheck 'use PhysX simulation',

Cheers

Well, Mr. H seems to know his chit. Shutting the PhysX off, indeed, put the wayward unruly locomotive smoke right back in the stacks where it belongs. Even when the cursed black magic cat lines run double overhead. Computers are a total mystery to me. I frankly don't know chit about much of this stuff myself.

Thank you, Mr. H, for your wonderful gift of Trainzology! You are truly the Swami of Smokestack, the Ayatollah of Locomotive, the Bodhisattva of Boxcar, the Buddha of Caboose, the Confucius for Confused Trainzers, the Dalai Lama of Railroad Drama and the Guru of Choo-choo. You are one loyal, wise and noble fellow Trainzer!
